Spreadsheet Time Tracking: How To Do It More Easily

The Fair Labor Standards Act’s (FLSA) lax rules on timesheet formatting seem helpful at first glance. That is until you find yourself sifting through scraps of paper, manual punch cards, and spreadsheets in various formats.

Step 3: Enter any vacation or PTO fields

Step 4: Enter formula for hours worked per day like this:

Input = Add the working hours and any overtime hours into the cell that you want to show the total hours worked on day 1.

Step 5: Enter formula to calculate hours worked per week like this:

Input =SUM of Cell from day 1 + Cell from day 2 + Cell from day 3 + Cell from day 4 + Cell from day 5, etc.

Step 6: Save your changes and move the file to the corresponding folder for record-keeping purposes.
